INSPIRATION FOR THE NEW JEWELRY COLLECTION

One sources of inspiration for the new jewelry collection from Clara Kasavina is Antonio Gaudi, the Catalan architect, whose distinctive organic style was inspired by nature -- cathedrals like sand castles (the Sagrada Familia Cathedral known as Barcelona’s Natural Wonder) and lighting fixtures like the sun.  Another inspiration is the new Freedom Tower, or One World Trade. While it references such iconic buildings as the Empire State and Chrysler, we love its simplicity, and that its shape is ‘eight tall isosceles triangles, a shape we use over and over from Swarovski Elements.  What all these inspirations  have in common is roots in the past but thoroughly modern design. CLARA KASAVINA: RED HOT SIZZLING GLAMOUR by Peggy Healy

Clara Kasavina’s fabulous, finely-wrought jewelry and timeless designer evening bags are featured in a slew of just-out glossies, from Canada’s high fashion magazine, Flare, to our bible for for the newly betrothed -- Brides magazine. We believe Clara Kasavina’s bags and baubles are perfect complements to the new designer fashions that strode the catwalk during New York’s 2012 Fashion Week. What works with what, you ask?  Here’s our advice: Clara Kasavina’s Branchie ring worn by Emily VanKamp on the cover of Flare magazine goes beautifully with these fresh classics  from Thakoon. The hand-made wraparound  filigreed ring set with Swarovski stones gives pop to Thakoon’s “old school elegance of New York.”

Clara Kasavina’s  Francis Hoop earrings, brilliant, pear-shaped double drops set with Swarovski Elements, are featured in the March issue of Brides Magazine. These sparklies flatter the face and would grace any of the gorgeous evening gowns Reem Acra showed in her new collection:

What evening bag could hold its own against this cool, golden column entrance dress from the inimitable Naeem Khan?  We propose a cool, silvery entrance bag, specifically Clara Kasavina’s Romeo, winner of InStyle’s 2011 red carpet award.  This is the collectible evening bag Candy Pratts Price picked for the pages of Vogue.com and that the editors of Focus magazine’s chose for their Spring/Summer 2012 issue.

Picks for Beyonce's Blue Ivy by Peggy Healy

Suddenly, it’s a blue, blue. blue, blue world. (Well, Earth always was blue from the moon.) Just ask Beyoncé and her hubby, Jay-Z, who named their brand-new baby Blue Ivy. Or Clara Kasavina, co-creator with her husband, sculptor Misha Berger, of the eponymous line of collectible evening hand bags and designer jewelry.

Clara and Misha have infused their Spring/Summer 2012 Collection with the freshest blues of the season. “We’re in the mood for blue, Sweetheart, not a blue mood,” confided Clara Kasavina, smiling. “We love all the shades -- baby blue, robin’s egg blue, aqua, sapphire. Our inspiration? We’ve taken our cues from fashion, travel, design history, Pop Art and pop culture.”  And speaking of pop culture, wasn’t that Beyoncé posing regally in Essence wearing Clara Kasavina’s cool as ice silver choker?

Thumb through the Clara Kasavina web site (I know, I know, it’s digital, but your thumb’s a digit, too) and see how many blue creations you can count.  I’ve found at least a half a dozen, but here’s one I just adore:

Clara Kasavina’s Swan Princess.  The frame of this romantic yet modern, baby blue python evening handbag is encrusted with Swarovski crystals so intricately set they conjure Kate Middleton’s Cartier tiara. The name comes from the charming clasp -- a pair of opposing swans wrought of crystals. Pretty silver chain straps are also inset with Swarovski diamanté. Wear it as a dazzling entrance accessory to your next party and swan around like a princess. Or like Beyoncé. They’ll be kneeling at your feet.

Clara Kasavina featured on Cat Deeley in People’s Style Watch!

One of our Fave’s So You Think You Can Dance Star Cat Deeley was spotted in the November issue of People’s Style Watch sporting a Clara Kasavina Romeo Minaudiere.

Donning a Vintage Glam outfit, Cat pulled this enchanting look together. This is why she’s one to watch – especially after being noticed on People’s Style Watch.  Cat wore a re-worked vintage blush number, crystalized on the bodice with lady like splendor.  Cat paired this confection with our Romeo Minaudiere and silver Jimmy Choo sandals.

Cat is a fan of dramatic yet elegant looks and we agree – she always looks ravishing.  A fashion maven in her own right, her personal style is bold yet feminine.  She is never afraid to take a fashion risk, and being her own stylist – this says a lot about the charming Brit.  From big name designers to treasured vintage finds, Cat is for sure a Style Star.
